HOLY CHOW CELEBRATES 12TH ANNIVERSARY THIS SEPTEMBER 2010!  Don’t miss this birthday celebration on Wednesday, September 8th from 11:00AM - 1:30 PM.  There will be punch, fellowship, lunch (meatloaf, mashed potatoes & gravy, peas & carrots, roll and birthday cake) for $6.00 and an exciting program.  Our speaker Rev. Lee Allen is not only the pastor who works with Prime O’Life and the lead pastor for Casual Worship but is also an excellent photographer.  During his program he will be sharing some of his slides.  Please call 924-6269 to make your reservations or cancellations if necessary.  We have to balance our numbers:  attendance & food.

KIDZ PRAISE BEGINS NEXT SUNDAY, SEPTEMBER 12!!!!  KIDZ PRAISE is the new name of our children’s choir program.  All children will have fun learning more about our faith through singing, playing instruments, and movement. Children 4 years old-first grade will meet at 10:15 a.m. during 9:45 Sunday School.  Children in Grades 2 - 6 will meet on Sundays from 5 - 7 p.m.; their time will include a snack supper, Bible activities, mission projects, and, of course, cool songs!  All the choirs will participate in a Christmas musical with drama and costumes!!  For more information, contact Dr. Dona Lusted at 924-6269 (dlusted@broadmoor-umc.org) or checkout our website at www.broadmoor-umc.org/childrensmusic.

SUNDAY EVENINGS BEGINNING SEPTEMBER 12th, NEW BIBLE STUDY and SHORT-TERM CLASSES:   A variety of opportunities will be offered: How to Really Love Your Teenager, Blueprints from God (Parents of children 2-10), The Way of Prayer, and Disciple 1.  These opportunities will be offered simultaneously with UMYF and Kidz Praise (2nd - 6th) from 5:00-7:00 PM. To register for these classes or find out more information, please contact Charlotte Napper (924-6269 or cnapper@broadmoor-umc.org) or Rev. Shannon Sandifer (505-4401 or revshannon@cox.net).

GROWTH GROUPS AT BUMC -- Come be a part of an intentional rhythm of discipleship! The focus of these small groups, made up of 8 to 12 people each, may vary, but they will all be grounded in scripture and bound by a commitment to care for one another and to grow in discipleship. Some groups have been meeting under other names; new groups are now forming. There is room for you! Call Charlotte Napper (924-6269 or cnapper@broadmoor-umc.org) to find your place to grow!

THE UNITED METHODIST MEN will hold their first fall meeting on MONDAY September 13th @ 6:30 PM in Room 3 of the Youth Ministries/Activities Building.  Our guest speaker will be our own Ken Carroll, who will give us a status report on some of the new programs Broadmoor is implementing as a result of the survey our church conducted last fall. We will also include a question and answer period. This should be an interesting and informative program. As always, the cost is $5.00 and includes a great meal. All men of the church are invited to attend, and encouraged to bring a friend. We hope to see you there.

WEDNESDAY EVENING SUPPER & BIBLE STUDIES RESUME ON SEPTEMBER 15th.  Supper will be served from 5:00 - 6:15 at a cost of $6.00 per person.  A variety of study opportunities will be available from 6:00-7:30 PM.  The studies will include Disciple 1, Invitation to the New Testament, and Questions God Asks Us.  Contact Charlotte Napper (924-6269 or cnapper@broadmoor-umc.org) or Rev. Shannon Sandifer (505-4401 or revshannon@cox.net) for additional information, or to sign up for a class.

8:30 WORSHIP CHOIR STARTING: All singers, from junior high age to adult, are invited to be part of a new group that will sing at the 8:30 a.m. service on Sundays. This group will help lead the hymn singing for the congregation and will occasionally provide a simple anthem on their own. Rehearsals will be on Wednesday evenings from 7:30 - 8:30 beginning September 8. Come and be a part of this new group! For more information, contact David Shaler at 924-6269 or <dshaler@broadmoor-umc.org>.

ENGLISH AS SECOND LANGUAGE CLASSES will be starting soon.  This is a unique Evening Mission Opportunity on the BUMC campus to help non-English speaking residents learn English.  Registration for students is Monday, Sept. 13th, in the Youth Ministries Building.  A teachers meeting is Thursday, Sept. 16th, 7:30 pm in the Youth Ministries Building.  Classes begin Monday, Sept. 20th, 7:00-8:30 pm in the Youth Ministries Building. This program utilizes Rosetta Stone software, so knowledge of another language is not necessary.  If you are interested in serving in this program, contact Jenola Duke 275-8178 or jenoladuke@cox.net.
