"Prime O' Life" is a ministry by, for, and with adults age 55 and over. This ministry encompasses opportunities for fellowship, serving through outreach, retreats, informational seminars, as well as events and trips just for fun.

Fellowship, food, and informational programs are offered monthly through Holy Chow. The second Wednesday of each month (first Wednesday for the month of December), those in the prime of their life gather in the gym beginning at 11:30 for fellowship, a delicious lunch at 12:00 for $6.00 per person, and an informational or entertaining program. This monthly event is open to all adults, but you must reserve (924-6269) your spot by the Friday before so that we will know you are coming.

Seminars are held periodically on such topics as aging awareness, health wellness, and bereavement planning. Prime O' Lifers travel together several times per year with one or two longer trips (3-5 days) and two to three one-day trips per year.

Missional opportunities are an important part of the Prime O' Life ministry. Yearly trips to the Appalachia Service Project and most recently the planting of a garden (Green Acres) to supply fresh vegetables to our Southeast Ministries are examples.

Groups connected with Prime O' Life include the Pelican Chapter of AARP, the Abundantly Blessed Citizens (ABC) Club, THEOS support group, Saints Alive choir and several Sunday School classes. AARP designed programs include "55 Alive Defensive Driving" and Income Tax preparation assistance.

Our newly established Prime Times is the place to stay abreast of all the Prime O' Life happenings. Published quarterly, this newsletter tells everything about the various programs we offer. If you are not on our mailing list, contact Mary Saltzman, Education Secretary, and she will see that you get a copy of Prime Times.
