Worship Service Opportunities

Volunteers are needed for the following positions in Worship (please use the form at the bottom of the page to sign up):

Usher - welcome visitors and members to the worship services, assist with seating, distribute the order of worship, collect the offering, and distribute the attendance registration pads. Ushers are needed Sunday mornings. Scheduling is flexible

Sunday Morning – Traditional

Sunday Morning – Casual

Special Events – needed for special services such as funerals, midweek meditations, and special liturgical season worship services. These ushers serve on an as-needed basis.

Communion Steward - Prepare the communion trays and elements for Sunday morning and Saturday evening worship services and for any special seasonal communion services such as Christmas Eve and Maundy Thursday. Responsibilities include purchase and preparation of the elements for the services and cleaning up the altar area between services. They are also responsible for the care of the communion linens.

Sound System Operator - monitor the soundboard in the sanctuary during the Sunday morning worship services to make certain volume levels of all sanctuary microphones are correct and that the sound system is working correctly.

Media Operator - learn to use the sanctuary computer to display visuals on the two overhead screens. Training will be provided.

Banner Creation Committee - members design and create banners used to visually enhance the worship experience. These banners are used both inside and outside the sanctuary.

Liturgical Season Decorations - Volunteers are needed to assist the Liturgical Season committee with decorations for the sanctuary and church campus to enhance seasonal celebrations, especially Easter and Christmas.

Seasonal Altar Enhancement Ministry - provide altar creations to expand the worship experience.

Casual Service – Greeter - welcome members and visitors to the Sunday morning casual service. Greeters need to be present at 10:45 and commitment level is flexible.

Casual Service – Hospitality Team - members provide donuts, etc. for casual service and arrive 15 minutes early to set up table, coffee and donuts. Hospitality volunteers are scheduled on a rotating basis.

Casual Service – Set-up Team - members help worship team distribute bulletins and sign-in sheets, plus several other small tasks on Sunday morning

Casual Service – Audio/Visual Team - members help set-up and operate audio/visual equipment at Casual Service as well as other opportunities. A short training session is required.

Casual Service – Altar Team - members help decorate the altar in the gym. Volunteers will be scheduled several times a year.
